Worship together - worship alone?
Devotional guides available here.
Word, prayer, sacraments, and the family of God's people gathered as a Spirit-filled worshiping community is the instrument through which God carries our faith to completion. What we do together is essential. However, it cannot exist and thrive alone. Corporate worship on Sunday fills us to go out into the world as families and individuals to live out what we have experienced together!
- As you hear God's voice, read and preached, you are filled to go out and speak truth as an ambassador.
- As you participate in prayer, you are strengthed to pray without ceasing as you re-enter every day life.
- As your conscience is assured of God's forgiveness in Christ, you are cleansed to go out and give gospel-driven forgiveness to others.
- As you participate in the praise of God's people, you are reminded of the glory of God which upholds all of life.
- As Christ baptises new christians, you are called to remember that God has chosen and annointed you as his child.
What we do together should be regularly remembered and rehearsed in our private and individual use of the means of grace. We are lucky to have easy access to our own copies of God's Word, in easy to understand language. Prayer, though a challenging discipline to actually engage, is a privilege that most of us have ample time to enjoy as a daily practice.
Below you will find copies of the devotional guides from the weekly orders of worship. These are intended as helps and encouragements to you in reading the Bible and praying through out the week. There are many different ways that you could use this guide. It is short. Our pray is that its brevity will push you toward God's Word and the God's Word will push you toward prayer, and that communion with God will send you out to live by faith equipped with God's power.
